By using Timespace, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before getting started.

Welcome to Timespace.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Timespace mobile application (the "App"), operated by the independent developer of Timespace ("we," "us," or "our").

Timespace is a privacy-first mobile application designed to help you stay aware of meaningful moments and places through personal "anchors."

By creating an account, accessing, or using Timespace, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account or using Timespace, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms;
  • You agree to be legally bound by them;
  • You agree to comply with all applicable laws and platform policies.

Your use of Timespace is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

Timespace is available to individuals who meet the minimum age requirement in their jurisdiction:

  • 13 years or older in most jurisdictions; or
  • 16 years or older where required by local law.

By creating an account, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement.

3. Account Registration & Authentication

3.1 Account Required

An account is required to access Timespace.

You may sign in using:

  • Apple Sign In
  • Google Sign In
  • Email-based authentication
  • Facebook Sign In (if introduced in the future)

We may add or remove authentication methods over time.

3.2 Account Information

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information;
  • Keep your login credentials secure;
  • Notify us of unauthorized access;
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account.

You may not impersonate another person or create accounts using false information.

3.3 Third-Party Authentication Providers

If you use Apple, Google, or Facebook authentication:

  • You agree to comply with their respective terms of service;
  • We receive only the information necessary to authenticate your identity (such as name and email address);
  • We do not access your third-party account beyond authentication.

We are not responsible for the practices of third-party authentication providers.

3.4 Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms;
  • You provide false information;
  • Required by law;
  • Subscription payments fail or are reversed.

You may request account deletion at any time.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

4.1 Freemium Model

Timespace offers:

  • A free tier with limited anchors
  • A paid Pro subscription (monthly or annual)

Subscription features are described in-app and may change.

4.2 Apple In-App Purchases

For iOS users:

  • Payments are processed exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
  • We do not collect or store credit card details.
  • Billing is handled by Apple under its terms.

If Android is introduced, Google Play billing may apply.

Your use of Timespace must comply with applicable app store terms.

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Renewals are charged by Apple (or Google Play).

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through your device's subscription settings:

  • iOS: Apple ID subscriptions
  • Android (if applicable): Google Play subscriptions

Deleting your account or the App does not automatically cancel your subscription.

4.5 Refunds

Refunds are handled exclusively by the app store provider (Apple or Google Play). We do not issue direct refunds.

4.6 Failed Payments

If a subscription payment fails:

  • Pro access may be suspended;
  • Anchors exceeding free-tier limits may be locked but not deleted;
  • Access is restored upon successful renewal.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Timespace lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

  • Use the App for illegal activity;
  • Upload or store unlawful, harmful, abusive, or defamatory content;
  • Attempt to interfere with App functionality;
  • Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions;
  • Reverse engineer or exploit the App.

You are responsible for all content stored under your account.

6. User Content

"User Content" includes any anchors, dates, locations, notes, or related information you enter.

6.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of your User Content.

We do not claim ownership of your anchors, journal entries, or personal data.

6.2 Limited License

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process your content solely to:

  • Operate the App;
  • Enable features you request;
  • Maintain and improve functionality.

6.3 Access to Content

By design:

  • Anchor data is stored locally on your device by default.
  • We do not read or access your journal entries.
  • We do not sell or share your content.

If optional cloud backup or web access is introduced, additional processing may occur solely to provide those services.

7. Privacy & Data Handling

Timespace is built around privacy:

  • No ads
  • No selling of user data
  • No third-party advertising tracking
  • Offline-first functionality

Data is stored locally on your device by default.

Certain minimal account information (e.g., email address, authentication identifier) is stored to provide access and subscription management.

You are responsible for backing up your data where export or backup options are available.

We do not guarantee permanent storage of user data.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights in the App - including its design, branding, code, interface elements, and visual identity - are owned by the developer of Timespace and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Share or resell accounts;
  • Circumvent subscription mechanisms;
  • Use automated tools to interact with the App;
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems;
  • Violate platform policies.

10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may:

  • Stop using the App at any time;
  • Delete your account by contacting us or using in-app controls (if available).

Account deletion does not automatically cancel active subscriptions.

10.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • Violations of these Terms;
  • Legal requirements;
  • Non-payment.

Where appropriate, we will attempt to provide notice.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Timespace is provided "as is" and "as available."

We do not guarantee:

  • Continuous availability;
  • Error-free operation;
  • Permanent storage of data;
  • Compatibility with all devices.

The App depends on device operating systems, notification services, and location services beyond our control.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages;
  • We are not liable for data loss due to device issues, OS updates, or user actions;
  • We are not responsible for missed notifications due to device settings or battery optimization.

Nothing limits non-waivable consumer rights.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer of Timespace from claims arising from:

  • Your misuse of the App;
  • Violation of these Terms;
  • Violation of applicable law.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.

If you reside in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections may apply.

Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sri Lanka unless required otherwise by applicable law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.

Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date and may be communicated in-app.

Continued use of Timespace constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

16. Future Features

If Timespace introduces:

  • Cloud backup
  • Cross-device synchronization
  • A web version
  • Android support
